I'm very excited to do my first knit/crochet-a-long. After Suzy asked if anyone was interested in starting a Team New Haven for the Ravelympics, I jumped at the chance to be in the Bag-n-Tote Backstroke event in my effort to be more green. But, there are so many tote patterns to crochet, I'm having a hard time deciding which one to use. My hope is to make each bag in two days tops and I will be in Philadelphia on the 8th, when the Olympics start and we are allowed to cast on...Justin might kill me. I might even try to knit a bag as well but I want to get as much bang for my buck that I'll probably just stick to crochet for this event. I still have two and a quarter skeins left of the Little Barn Cotton and Ecospun I bought at the MDSW Festival as well as a bunch of ball of Peaches and Cream cotton that I can mix and match as needed to reach the size of bag that I want. I also bought some nylon webbing handles from Joann's a few weeks ago when out with Ola and I might pick up another pair or two. Depending on which bag I do, I can use 1 handle for each but I don't really know if I'll do that. I'm a two handle kinda gal, I think. Oooh, I almost forgot about some really beautiful mercerized cotton that Suzy gave me forever ago at a yarn swap we had...
Oh, and is anyone doing the Lacework Javelin event? I've decided to trade my Zephyr...I've tried knitting with it about 5 times now and I just can't do it. It's too thin for me, makes my hands hurt and I drop stitches like it's my job. I will trade for something thicker and equally pretty. I don't care about the cost of the yarn and such crap because honestly, I don't remember what I paid for the Zephyr in the first place. I still would like to do a lace stole....again, just with a thicker gauge yarn. Maybe if someone has some yarn that I could use for more bags/totes, I'll trade for that as well. Whatever. Someone trade me and use the yarn I have!!!
Okay, so here are the bags I'm thinking of making. I need input/suggestions. The first links are non-Ravelry links...
BYOB--though it is knit and I'm a slow knitter and would like to stay away...
Fantasy Naturale Market Bag--again, another knit one but it seems like it would be super quick to work...
Elisa Nest Tote--essentially the Fantasy bag just knit flat, folded in half and crocheted together but it appeals to me more than the other...
Beginner Crochet Market Bag--Simple enough.
"Market" Tote Bag--this one doesn't seem like it stretches all that much but I could be wrong...
Krystal's Grocery Bag--it has it's own nifty pocket to fold the bag into itself!
Go Green Market Bag--again, simple enough pattern that would take me no time to finish.
So that's all. Now help me choose! I want to go gold and am slightly competitive in nature. :) I don't even know how they determine who gets what medal...are they even doing that? I need to read up some more about these games....

I'm doing Laceweight Long Jump. But I don't need any yarn. You should try Ravelry's ISO and Destash page.
I like the Go Green Market Bag myself, but I like the idea of Krystal's Grocery Bag also.
